Dr. Taisen Iguchi
From Basic Study for Endocrine Disruptors to Environmental Sex Determination in the Reptiles and Daphnids
Dr. Taisen Iguchi is professor at Yokohama City University, Yokohama, Japan, where he studies 1) developmental effects of estrogen and estrogenic chemicals on various animal species, and molecular mechanism of persistent epigenetic changes in mouse reproductive tracts induced by perinatal estrogen exposure, 2) molecular mechanisms of environmental sex determination in Daphnis, and temperature-dependent sex determination in American alligators, 3) molecular evolution of steroid hormone receptors. He received his BS and MS from Okayama University and Ph.D. from University of Tokyo in 1981. He appointed postdoctoral fellow at University of California at Berkeley in 1981-1983. He held faculty position at Yokohama City University in 1979, promoted as professor in 1992, then moved to National Institute for Basic Biology as professor in 2000 and moved back to Yokohama City University in 2016.
