Dr. Chairat Charoemratrote is the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Prince of Songkla University, Thailand. He is an associate professor in Orthodontics and former head of Orthodontic section. He is the President of Thai Association of Orthodontists. Dr. Charoemratrote graduated his Dentistry and master degree in Orthodontics from Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand. He continued another orthodontic training at Boston University and received Doctorate degree in Orthodontics from the same university. He is a diplomate of the Thai board of Orthodontics.
Dr. Charoemratrote conducts many research projects including Class II treatment, mini-screw implant, orthodontic materials and innovative clinical research. He published a number of articles in both national and international journals. He is currently practicing in both university dental clinic and his own private clinic.
Class 2 Treatment with MIA
Most of Class II malocclusion patients regularly present with retrognathic mandible in combined with large overjet and deepbite. Some patients have self improvement when the treatment conducted during the mandibular growth. However, in many of the patients, class II molar still existed. The correction can be introduced in either maxilla or mandible depend on the causes of the problems. MIA is one of many possible approaches with effectively and predictable results.
