Biological Phenomenon Of MSI-BONE And Gingival INTERFACE For The Stability And Clinical Success

Abstract

The bone MSI interface has been studied extensively to understand the phenomenon of stability as related to the clinical success of the of the MSI. Little attention has been paid to MSI soft tissue interface, more so at the to the biological seal established at the transgingival collar region. The PMICF can provide a host of information on bone MSI interface and also status of the health of the soft tissue around MSI. This presentation will focus on evaluation of mediators in peri-implant crevicular fluid (PICF) to study the bone remodeling processes around MSIs at insertion or application of orthodontic forces when using MSIs as direct or indirect anchorage. The current literature indicates that only little (1% or so ) of biochemical and microbiological evidence regarding the success of MSIs has been explored. The research conducted at CDER on mediators including pro-inflammatory cytokines, interleukins, Matrix Metalloproteinases (MMPs). Circulating Nucleic Acids (CNA) Pentraxin 3 (PTX3). Macrophage-colony Stimulating Factor (M-CSF) and how it relates to clinical success will be presented.
