Effectiveness of temporary anchorage device for orthodontic treatment for various malocclusions

Abstract

Recently, temporary anchorage devices (TADs) have been developed and are indicated in various malocclusions of orthodontic patients. The major applications for TADs in orthodontic treatment are reinforced anchorage, intrusion and/or distal movement of the molars. Many case reports on intrusion and distal movement of teeth using TADs have been previously published.
It is possible to move the teeth and dentition toward the treatment goals by using TADs as an absolute anchorage. Orthodontic treatment has become possible to highly predictable treatment combine with TADs. In my presentation, through the introduction of actual cases, I would like to discuss three dimensional control mechanics and treatment results using TADs.
